I’ve spent my career fighting for fully funded public schools, because I believe every child deserves a high-quality education. From supporting smaller class sizes and early learning programs to paying teachers and staff fairly, I’ve worked to ensure every student has the resources and opportunities they need to succeed.
Some of my top priorities are expanding access to safe, affordable housing for all Washington families, supporting rent caps, creating first-time homebuyer programs, and speeding up construction. My leadership has focused on making homeownership and stable housing a reality for working families.
Our government should help small businesses succeed by providing tax credits, trade opportunities, and community investment without compromising on consumer and worker protections.
I have a track record of strengthening citizens’ rights against predatory corporate practices, because I believe consumer protections must always come first. From improving transparency and accountability to standing up to unfair lending and corporate abuse, I’ve worked to ensure Washingtonians are treated fairly and protected every step of the way.
I'm a proud advoacate of protecting reproductive rights, because these medical decisions should be made between patients and their doctors, not politicians or government officials.
As a city council member and mayor, I witnessed firsthand the importance of community policing and believe that, even amid complex challenges, we must prioritize both public safety and accountability in law enforcement.
We must protect our planet from climate change and safeguard the future for generations to come. I am committed to advancing renewable energy and growing Washington’s workforce in the green energy sector.
